Update: 5:15 p.m.
Heavy winds have caused more than 40 power outages in the Okanagan and Shuswap Saturday.
The BC Hydro Outage Map shows 45 outages in the regions as of 5 p.m. May 31.
Some of the outages are due to wires down, others are still under investigation.
An outage in Ranchero has left 2,307 customers in the dark due to a tree down across wires. Power has been off since about 3:15 p.m. west of Old Sicamous Road and crews are on site.
Another 1,542 customers are without power north of Scotch Creek. The outage is north of Hilltop Road and West of Eagle By Road. Crews have been assigned and the cause is under investigation.
Meanwhile, 1,701 customers are left in the dark in the Shuswap area west of Eagle Bay Road, north of Justin Road and east of Evans Road. Crews have been assigned.
In the Shuswap's Gleneden area, power is out for 476 customers, also due to a tree down across wires. Crews are on their way to the site northeast of 30th Avenue and west of Highway 1.
East of Eagle Bay, 442 customers are without power east of Lucerne Beach Road due to wires down. Crews have been assigned.
A fallen tree has also caused an outage for 381 customers near Paradise Point on the west side of Shuswap Lake. Crews are on site west of Highway 1. Power is expected to return by 7:30 p.m.
In Lake Country, 500 residents are without power due to the wind storm. In that case, the power has been off since 2:34 p.m. and a BC Hydro crew has been assigned.

As wind gusts arrive to the Central Okanagan, three different power outages are happening along Westside Road on Saturday afternoon (May 31).
An outage along Westside Road from Killiney Beach to Wilson's Landing has 1,566 BC Hydro customers in the dark.
Power along the road has been out since 2:20 p.m., with the cause unknown at this time.
BC Hydro is investigating, but a crew has not been assigned to the scene yet.
It is unknown when the power will be back on.
In West Kelowna, west of Westside Road, 1,106 people are currently without power due to a wire down. The outage is north of Horizon Drive and east of McDougall Road.
A crew has been assigned to the scene.
Meanwhile, a third outage is just north and west of Westside Road and affecting another 112 BC Hydro customers. It is also under investigation and a BC Hydro crew is expected to arrive on scene around 3:15 p.m.
