A teenage boy in Surrey is recovering in hospital from a "significant stab wound," police say
Surrey Police responded to a call Thursday (June 5) of a stabbing in the 13200 block of 70B Ave around 3 p.m. Police located the 14-year-old male victim who had a "significant stab wound."
The teen was transported to the hospital, where he remains in "stable condition," Surrey Police said in a news release Friday (June 6).
"Surrey Police Service officers then began searching for the suspect involved. Just before 5:00 PM they located and arrested a youth suspect a few blocks away from where the victim was found," reads the news release. The suspect is a 15-year-old male.
The investigation is ongoing, and the motive is not known at this time, but police say the incident "does not appear to be random" and that the two teens knew each other.
