Stubbs and The and Shuffle Demons take the stage at Gyro Park on Thursday, July 10 as part of the Trail and District Arts Council’s Kootenay Savings Music in the Park concert series.
Music kicks off at 6:15 p.m. and promises an energetic, genre-bending night of live entertainment.
Opening the evening is Rossland’s own Stubbs and The, a five-piece band known for their fun, theatrical style and crowd-friendly energy.
What began as a cover band quickly evolved into something original and unpredictable.
With lyrics in ten languages and a sound that defies easy labels, Stubbs and The bring a mix of humour, heart, and creativity that invites the whole family to join in.
Headlining the night are Toronto’s Shuffle Demons, a band with deep roots in Canada’s street music scene.
Since 1984, they’ve fused jazz, funk, blues, and rap into a bold, horn-driven sound built for improvisation and danceable grooves.
Their stripped-down setup of bass, horns, and drums delivers a full, powerful sound that’s both inventive and high-energy.
It’s music that moves you, literally and figuratively.
Admission is by donation, with a suggested minimum of $3 per person.
Or support the season with a full summer pass for $30, available online or in person at the park (cash or credit).
Bring a lawn chair, bring some friends, and enjoy an evening of live music outdoors.
Looking ahead, the always-popular Night Market returns Thursday, July 17 with a packed lineup and a collaboration with Trail’s Incredible Farmers Market.
From 5 p.m. to 8:30 pm, enjoy live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and market vendors, with free shuttle service running from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. between Trail Safeway and the Trail Memorial Centre.
On Wednesday, July 24, RemarkABILITY Fest — presented in partnership with Diverse Family Roots — offers a night of inclusive celebration and community engagement.
Then on Friday, Aug. 8, get ready for the Music in the Dark Beach Dance Party, featuring DJ sets and a headline performance by Apollo Suns.
The event runs from 7 p.m. to 9:30 pm and is $10 at the gate.
It’s a no-alcohol event recommended for ages 15 and up.
