Surrey Police Service is investigating a late-afternoon stabbing that sent one man to hospital in critical condition with serious injuries.
Shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday (May 6), a man entered the SPS District 1 office — located on the southeast corner of King George Boulevard and 107A Avenue — with serious stab wounds to his torso, an SPS release said.
SPS officers immediately provided emergency medical intervention, and the man was taken to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services, where he remains in critical condition.
Police found what is believed to be the location of the stabbing in the 10600-block King George Boulevard, the release continued.
While searching for evidence and witnesses, officers located a person of interest and took them into custody. At this early stage, it is unknown if there are any outstanding suspects. SPS Frontline Investigative Support Unit detectives have been called in to assist with the investigation.
