Red Mountain officially opens the next big thing in Canadian mountain biking on June 21.

Red Mountain is set to elevate its summer appeal by launching its lift-accessible bike park on the longest day of the year.

Known for its winter slopes, RED resort is now offering outdoor enthusiasts a thrilling new way to explore its rugged terrain during the warmer months.

“The Red Mountain Bike Park is poised to be the cornerstone for the community of Rossland,” said RED General Manager Andrew Lunt in a release.

“The promotion of local tourism, outdoor recreation in the Kootenays, and to elevate Rossland as the premier four-season basecamp for a multitude of outdoor experiences.”

Built in partnership with Gravity Logic, the bike park will feature a variety of trails designed for all skill levels.

The newly forged Red Riding Hood Trail and Columbia Ave Trail are recommended for beginners, while the intermediate tracks include Pilgrim Upper and Lower, Gold Digger, Golden Ticket, Lapis Lazuli, and Paydirt Upper.

More experienced riders can quench their adrenaline thirst by diving into Paydirt Lower, Can ‘O Worms Upper, Middle and Lower, Mine Shaft, Dragon Tail, and Rock Bottom.

More trails are planned to open as the park continues to develop and expand over the next three years and promises an exciting mix of singletrack, jump lines, and flow trails.

The lift-accessible bike park will operate using the existing ski lift, Silverlode Chair, repurposed for transporting bikes and riders to the summit.

The chair will shuttle riders to an elevation of more than 4,500 feet, where they can choose their path from multiple trailheads and begin their descent.

To ensure safety, all riders will be required to sign a waiver and wear protective gear.

The park will also offer bike rentals, as well as a repair shop for rentals and emergency maintenance.

Red Mountain's new lift-accessible bike park is poised to become a must-visit destination for mountain biking enthusiasts.

Whether you're a seasoned rider seeking thrills or a beginner looking to try out the sport, the park's diverse trails, accessible pricing, and welcoming atmosphere make it an exciting addition to Rossland's outdoor adventure venues.

Get ready to hit the trails as the ribbon-cutting ceremony goes at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21.

The event will also offer guided rides, demo bikes, food and refreshments, draws, and live music.

The bike park offers various pricing options for all riders.
