'What the Seal Saw' comes to life with a story walk event on Monday, May 19 in White Rock that features local, award-winning author Sherry McMillan.

A White Rock resident and local, award-winning author will help bring one of her books to life with a long weekend story walk event.

Hosted by READ Surrey/White Rock Society, the Pop-Up StoryWalk is set for Victoria Day — Monday, May 19 — at Memorial Park Plaza near the iconic White Rock Pier. It will feature local author Sherry McMillan, who pens children’s poetry and picture books.

Her first book, What The Seal Saw, was awarded Indigo Chapters Heather’s Kids Pick, which will also be the story showcased at the Pop-Up StoryWalk.

The book takes place in the White Rock area and reflects McMillan's passion for inspiring young children to explore both language and the natural world.

The free event happens from 1-3 p.m. on May 19, at the entrance to the pier.
