Seniors were the focus at the fourth annual Seniors Expo in White Rock Saturday.
Held at the Star of the Sea Hall, an estimated 300 people attended the community event, hailed as "a tremendous success" by event co-ordinator and Surrey-White Rock MLA Trevor Halford in a release.
The event offered seniors and their families a valuable opportunity to connect with local services, programs and businesses that support older adults in White Rock and Surrey, the release noted, with local vendors showcasing a wide range of information.
Complimentary coffee, tea and Timbits welcomed guests, while the Say Cheese food truck was on site to offer gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches throughout the day.
Steve Elliott, "White Rock’s favourite Elvis impersonator," added to the energy of the event, engaging with attendees while singing and taking photos outside the venue, the release noted.
“I love putting on these events because they remind people of the incredible support network that exists right here in our backyard,” Halford said.
“It's about connection, education and celebrating the vibrant seniors who are such an important part of our community.”
Several elected officials from White Rock and Surrey also attended the event.
As the event continues to grow each year, the Seniors Expo remains a "meaningful space for learning, sharing, and connecting with the people and services that enrich the lives of seniors in our region," said the release.
