A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for 100 Mile House, Barriere and Clearwater.
Environment Canada issued the watch on June 12 at 12:42 p.m. and said conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
They say that severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year, and Environment Canada said "when thunder roars, go indoors!"
