Dutch Lake was a witches zone on Oct. 15 with 30 paddlers dressed in their finest witch and warlock garb.

A large audience for the event gathered on the beach to take in the colourful water show and creative costumes. A spotter boat kept pace with the paddlers for added safety with only one ‘fall in’ and another paddler choosing to swim in costume.

All paddlers made it out safely and organizer Theresa Braaten was happy with the event.

“Thanks to all who participated for doing so much work on their costumes and brought Halloween out to the water,” said Braaten.

The Halloween-inspired event raised money for the annual Community Christmas Dinner.

“We had so much fun and want to thank the people that donated to the Christmas dinner.”
