Blackpool Fire Rescue, Little Fort Volunteer Fire Department and Clearwater Fire Department encourage parents and kids to take extra safety steps this Halloween as they enjoy a fun late afternoon, early evening of trick or treating in the North Thompson.

“We will be doing the Cruis’n Treat again this year at a number of emergency services locations and Buy Low Foods within the community of Clearwater,” said Blackpool Fire Rescue Chief Mike Savage. “We are asking kids to walk in groups with adult supervision and use flashlights. Be sure to use battery operated lights in pumpkins instead of candles and always check kids’ candy prior to them consuming them. It’s important to remember that we have bears around town and to be watchful for them also.”

These are the locations participating in the ‘Cruis’n Treat’ Halloween event:

• Wells Gray Search and Rescue – treats available at Dragonfly Splash Park

• Clearwater RCMP and Victim Services, located at the RCMP detachment at 205 Dutch Lake Road

• Blackpool Fire Rescue will be handing out treats in the Buy Low parking lot

• Clearwater Fire Department in the hall at 336 Clearwater Village Road

If you have any questions please call the non emergency line for the Clearwater RCMP at: 250-674-2237
