A week-long effort to collect clothing and other items for people in need on the Semiahmoo Peninsula gets underway May 28.
According to a news release, the 'South Surrey/White Rock Realtor Summer Clothing Drive' will benefit Sources Community Resource Centres, with donations received to be distributed "by invitation only."
Sources' services support children, youth, adults and seniors "to move through hardship towards lives of thriving," the release notes.
In addition to new or near-new summer clothing and footwear for all ages, donations sought during the drive include hygiene products such as soap and shampoo, and sleeping bags.
Items may be dropped off at any local real-estate office, "or call your local realtor for pick up," the release adds.
The clothing drive continues through June 4.
