Sept. 28, was Raise a Reader Day in Clearwater and there were a number of events in the district to celebrate the program, sponsored by Yellowhead Community Services.

Any donated funds are matched in part by the Province of B.C. and come back to our community to be used for future programs to benefit children educationally.

Funds support great programs such as the Adult Tutor program, Youth Tutor program, ‘Come Read with Me’ program, Parent-Child Mother Goose, Early Years Playgroups, Teen Night activities, and so much more.

A small handful of spare change will make a big difference when donating to these sponsored events in the future that benefit children in our valley.

For more information, please contact: Denica or Kerry at Yellowhead Community Services at: 250-674-3530.
