The Spirit of Guiding will be in full force in Armstrong this weekend.
Girl Guides are rallying across B.C. with the Okanagan rally taking place Saturday, May 24 at the Interior Provincial Exhibition grounds.
The event will see more than 750 members from across the Okanagan and Thompson-Nicola Areas are registered to attend, representing every branch of Girl Guides — from Sparks and Embers to Rangers, Trex, and adult volunteers.
Youth from Osoyoos, Penticton, Summerland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Lake Country, Vernon, Armstrong, Lumby, Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Kamloops, Barriere, and Merritt are gathering for a regional fun day celebrating Girl Guiding in B.C.
"A vibrant day where members rekindle old friendships, forge new ones, and engage in a variety of fun-filled activities," said Cora-Lee Cudmore with Girl Guides of Canada. "From games, crafts, face painting, and SWAPS trading, to a memorable rally campfire, this event is a joyful celebration of the Guiding year."
Special guests will also be in attendance, including Deputy Provincial Commissioner Barb Wilson, Monashee Area Commissioner Lisa Gillis and Monashee Deputy Area commissioners Luci Wilcox and Melissa Bourdon-King.
