The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Tourism Wells Gray was held on Sept. 29 at the Wells Gray Inn, and saw the election of the 2023/2024 board of directors. The elected representative will serve in their positions until the next AGM in April of 2024. The appointed representatives vary in term length, and representation is reconfirmed ahead of each AGM.
This year’s summer season saw a significant increase in tourists visiting Wells Gray Park, noted the executive director of Tourism Wells Gray, Amber Benoit, during the AGM. She pointed to the substantial interest online via visitors to the www.wellsgray.ca website, and praised the social media marketing and posts by Amanada Svenson, Wells Gray Visitor Centre Manager, for contributing to the successful marketing during the 2023 season.
“Amanda did a great job promoting the area and we’ve seen an increase in interest to our social media posts thanks to her this summer.”
During the AGM the following representatives were elected for the next term:

Renovations have begun at the Wells Gray Visitor Information Centre now that the 2023 summer tourism season has come to an end, with the closing of the upper floor of the centre on Sept. 29.
The elections concluded with appetizers, beverages, and an exchange of ideas for the next meeting, which has yet to be announced.
Members of Tourism Wells Gray welcomed the partnership of a new tenant, the surgeryitaly, during the AGM. The Times office is now located in the lower level of the Wells Gray Visitor Info Centre and is open on Thursdays during business hours.
