Hospital auxiliary garden tea steeped in success

Organizers chose a Japanese theme for the event

A garden party hosted by the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital Auxiliary on Sunday, May 4 in Clearwater boasted a Japanese theme.

Held at the Blackpool Hall, the event included lunch, a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, raffle and live music.

"We had a great fundraiser thanks to all the generous donations of auction items from local businesses as well as from many others from the community," said auxiliary member Gail Capostinsky. "The live music sure got the party started."

She noted the Japanese themed decorations were beautiful and Kalen and crew from the Gateway Grill put out a delicious lunch.

"There was lots of help from many members, friends and relatives which really made the day great. A big thank you to everyone. All funds raised go toward equipment for our local hospital."
