Father’s Day is just around the corner. Are you looking for a gift for your dad but lacking inspiration? Here are some great ideas that suit every taste and budget. • A device or tool. Does your dad often talk about an item he dreams of owning, even if it’s not essential? Buy it for him! An air fryer, a pressure washer or even a mitre saw could make his day. If it’s a larger item, consider making it a joint gift.

• A camping accessory. If your father loves the great outdoors, consider gifting him a sturdy lay-flat hammock tent, an ultralight sleeping bag or a portable propane stove. A rechargeable headlamp or multipurpose knife also make excellent choices.

• Ingredients or accessories for the barbecue. Does your dad consider himself King of the Grill? Surprise him with an assortment of local hot sauces, a cedar grilling plank or high quality barbecue utensils. A personalized apron or Wi-Fi-enabled meat thermometer are also winning ideas.

• A care basket. For the dad who likes to take care of himself, put together a basket of self-care products like moisturizer, exfoliant, handmade soap and, depending on his grooming style, beard oil or aftershave balm.

• An addition to his wardrobe. If your dad likes to make a statement with his clothing, choose an eccentric sports shirt or elegant shoes with unique detailing.

• A fun experience. For the adventurous dad, book an axe-throwing session, an escape room adventure, a cooking workshop, a sky diving experience or a spirit tasting event.

• A new tech gadget. If your father is the techy type, gift him a portable solar charger or wireless headset. A solar-powered watch or smartwatch would also make a fantastic addition to his collection. Additionally, Bluetooth speakers or an e-reader could bring a smile to his face.

Visit your local shops to find the perfect gift for Dad. And remember, the most important thing is to choose something that reflects your father’s interests, not just your own! Can’t afford to buy your dad a present? No problem! Spending quality time together is often the best gift of all. Invite him to go for a bike ride, play a board game or watch his favourite sports team with you.
