Clearwater RCMP responded to 33 calls for service this past week.
On August 11, 2023 at 10:44 a.m BC Ambulance called the RCMP requesting assistance for a motor vehicle collision roll over at the 7 km mark on Lemieux Creek Road, near Little Fort, B.C.
It was reported that a 30 year old female was trapped in the back of the vehicle, which was on it’s side. Ambulance and fire were en-route.
They were making arrangements to get the Air Ambulance flown out. Const. Meyer was en-route when he located the 62 year old male driver from Little Fort.
He reported that he was driving the 2006 Ford F350 when it tipped over the bank and his girlfriend was in the vehicle, uninjured, but could not get out and up the bank without assistance.
Const. Meyer advised dispatch and drove to the location. The female passenger was out and already in the ambulance, going to the hospital for a quick check up.
The driver requested a tow so Const. Meyer called local tow companies who were not available at the time. A tow company from Barriere attended to recover and store the vehicle.
There was minor passenger side damage to the truck, due to being held up on its side by a tree, which prevented a roll over. Photos obtained, attached to the file. The driver was making his way up the road when an approaching vehicle, got too close so he swerved to the bank and got sucked over.
Damage under $10,000 and no accident report required. No violation tickets issued. File number provided for insurance purposes.
On Saturday August 12, 2023 at 06:00 hours a local Security officer called the Clearwater RCMP to report a suspicious vehicle parked on the Forest Service Road that off of Round Top Road, in Blackpool, B.C.
The BC license plate was provided. Queries confirmed the vehicle stolen out of Kamloops on August 11. The vehicle was a silver Ford F350 dually. Const. Meyer and Const. Klassen attended.
A female and a male were observed sleeping in the back seat. A spike belt was set up in front of the vehicle and police commands given. The female ignored police, jumped into the drivers seat, started the vehicle and attempted to drive off.
The spike belt was successful on both front tires and one of the rear tires. The driver went off road left within 200 meters and rolled the vehicle over on it’s side at slow speed.
The female and male were arrested, checked by paramedics and transported to hospital for precautionary follow up. The vehicle was towed by a local towing company to their yard.
The owner of the pickup was advised of it’s recovery. The male had two unendorsed warrants out of Kamloops, B.C. which were executed upon him.
He was subsequently remanded to Kamloops Court for Tuesday August 15 at 9:30 a.m.
