The 2024 Rotary Book Sale runs Oct. 27 to Nov. 2 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.

The ever-popular Rotary Book Sale is back in Chilliwack.

Organized by the Rotary Club of Chilliwack, this year's fundraiser event runs from Sunday, Oct. 27 to Saturday, Nov. 2 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.

People will be able to get their hands on some of the 80,000 books for sale, and that number is up from last year.

“The donations have just been coming in,” said book sale chairperson Roberta Zdril.

Just the other day, Rotary had a donation of 25 boxes of books and the warehouse was already full, she added.

Pocketbooks are $2 each or three for $5, large softcover are $3, hardcover are $4, kids books are $2 unless otherwise marked, and harlequins are $1 for two books. Rare and special books are priced individually.

There will also be CDs, DVDs and records for $2 unless otherwise marked, and they have 30 boxes of puzzles all individually priced.

The Rotary Book Sale has been running since 1984. Every year, the week-long fundraiser brings in thousands of dollars for community and international projects.

In 2020, the Rotary Club of Chilliwack started up a one-day outdoor book sale in the summertime to supplement the indoor seven-day sale in the fall. This year's one-day sale brought in more than $17,000.

The week-long indoor Rotary Book Sale is Sunday, Oct. 27 to Saturday, Nov. 2 at Chilliwack Heritage Park. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. They accept cash, debit or credit only, and are unable to take cheques or electronic transfers. American cash is accepted at par.
