A fifth candidate has entered the race in the Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola electoral area.
Jenna Lindley is the Green Party candidate for the riding, with her candidacy announced on the Green Party of Canada website on April 1. No further details about her are currently available.
Black Press has reached out to all five candidates who have announced that they are running in Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola, sending them a list of five questions. Their answers are scheduled to appear in the April 17 issues of the surgeryitaly and the Barriere Star / Journal.
In addition to Lindley, the declared candidates in Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola are Frank Caputo (Conservative), Iain Currie (Liberal), Chris Enns (People’s Party), and Miguel Godau (NDP). Potential candidates have until April 7 to file their papers, and a complete list of candidates in each riding will be announced by Elections Canada on April 9.
Where and when people in the riding can vote is being finalized. In addition to voting on general election day (Monday, April 28) there are opportunities for advance voting, voting by mail, and voting at an Elections Canada office.
According to an Elections Canada spokesperson, voter registration cards will start arriving by mail during the week of April 7. These cards — sent to every registered voter — will provide information about what riding you are in and where and when you can vote.
Please note that you can only cast your vote at your assigned polling station, which is clearly stated on your voter registration card. If you arrive at a different polling station — either in advance or on general election day — you will not be able to cast your vote there, and will instead be directed to the correct polling station.
Advance voting days in Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily on the following dates:
Friday, April 18
Saturday, April 19
Sunday, April 20
Monday, April 21
There will be advance polling stations in both Barriere and Clearwater. Your voter registration card will tell you which location you are able to vote at. See below for locations and addresses. Barriere Advanced Voting will be at the Barriere Legion / basement - 4673 Shaver Rd, Barriere and in Clearwater Advanced Voting will be at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #259, 257 Glen Road.
Voting on election day (April 28) will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all polling stations. Check your voter registration card to determine where you are eligible to vote. Locations are:

Clearwater: Royal Canadian Legion Branch #259, 257 Glen Road
Voting at any Elections Canada office is an option if you cannot go to your assigned polling station in your riding on election day or on advance voting days. All Elections Canada offices are open seven days a week between now and April 22: from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday through Friday), from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Saturday), and from noon to 4 p.m. (Sunday).
