Police in Merritt will remain at a residence on Clapperton Avenue, but the area is no longer closed to the public.
There is no risk to the public.

Police in Merritt are actively responding to an incident on Clapperton Avenue.
The RCMP first attended the residence at approximately 1:30 p.m. on April 9.
Corporal James Grandy has assured Merritt residents that there is no risk to the public. An email to parents that was posted to social media states that several schools and the board office in Merritt have been placed on lockdown.
RCMP are directing people to stay away from the area, which includes the Diamond Vale sub-division.
The RCMP will provide an update when appropriate.
