Clearwater Secondary School Principal's Message

Principal Darren Coates reports on the coming weeks in his Clearwater Secondary School message

Hello Parents, Guardians, Students and Staff:

Day of Sucwentwecw

On Monday we will be celebrating the Day of Sucwentwecw (Acknowledging One Another), an annual day in SD73 where we celebrate with our Indigenous partners from Simpcw. Like prior years we will host some guests from Chu Chua and learn a bit about local history and tradition followed by some breaking of bread, in this case bannock as students move into lunch hour. This is a great chance for enactment of reconciliation as we strengthen our relationships and allow the third of our students who identify as Indigenous to see themselves reflected in their education.

Core Competency Week

Students will find out what project group they are participating in on Monday. Students in Grades 10,11 or 12 may choose to participate in an internship during the week. Internships are a fantastic way to explore careers of interest. Students who are interested in an internship should connect with Mr. Fraser for paperwork and or help in setting up an internship.
