Linus Karlsson and Kailer Yamamoto tussle during a stoppage in play on Thursday (April 24). The Canucks and Roadrunners renew their rivalries for game three on Saturday (April 26).

It's a do-or-die Saturday (April 26) for the Abbotsford Canucks, but the club is hoping the stress of an elimination game can be burned off for fans with some fun prior to puck drop.

The club announced a 'Tailgate Party on the Plaza' at the Abbotsford Centre starting at 4:30 p.m.

Several activities are planned including live music with a DJ, a poster station, shooter tutor inflatable and more for all ages.

The plaza can be be found directly outside Gate 1 on the east side of the AC. The tailgate party is a free and family-friendly event. The weather for Saturday looks like it will co-operate, as local forecasts are predicting sunny conditions and a high of 19C.

More action will occur inside the arena and doors open at 6 p.m. A pre-game show featuring Fin the Whale (Vancouver Canucks mascot) is also scheduled. Green and blue beers will be sold early on the south rise section inside the AC and a special playoff t-shirt toss is planned.

Puck drop for Saturday is set for 7 p.m.

Abbotsford hosts the Tucson Roadrunners in a decisive game three and the winner of that game advances to the Pacific Division semifinal. The losing team is eliminated from the Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Canucks earned a 4-3 win in game one on Wednesday (April 23), but then fell 4-1 to Tucson on Thursday (April 24). Abbotsford is aiming to qualify for the Pacific Division semifinal for the second consecutive season. Tucson last won a playoff round back in 2018 when they defeated the San Jose Barracuda.
